Budget & Precept

The Precept is that element of your Council Tax that is paid to Corby Town Council.

Every year, the Town Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. Look out for reports to the Councils' finance committee and full Council during October-February each year to see how the budget for the next year is progressing.

The Council in 2021/22 raised £293,800 in precept. This meant that someone in a Band D house paid £18.70 for the year towards the Town Council. Every £1000 the Council spends costs each average household 6p per year.

The precept for 2022/23 was agreed by Council on 10th January 2022 and was £314,000. This means that a band D household paid £19.98 a year - or 37p a week. In 2023/24 we have agreed a precept of £445,000.00 which means a Band D household will pay £27.41 or 52p per week.
