An appeal for donations to support refugees from Afghanistan and Corby's food bank has had an overwhelming response.

The initiative, coordinated by members of Corby Town Council, will support projects across the area including Corby Foodbank and local refugee charities. The collection took place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September.

Corby Town Deputy Major, Taffy Chikoto, said: "We have been so grateful for the support we have received from residents from all corners of the town and local villages. Donations have included adult and children's clothing, toiletries and non-perishable food items, as well as a number of cash donations. All donations will be distributed shortly. Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate".
