Corby Town Council supports Great British Spring Clean
Corby Town Council pledges to support the Great British Spring Clean this year!North Northamptonshire Council are working alongside Corby Town Council and other partners to make the borough safer, cleaner and greener as part of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean campaign which runs from 25 Mar – 10 April this year.The Corby borough campaign is running throughout the entire campaign period.A programme of activity has been planned as follows for the Corby campaign week:• Local Friends of Groups and Wombles clean-up sessions taking place throughout the campaign.• Litter/flytipping enforcement patrols and environmental clean-ups by NNC Waste Services and Street Cleansing Teams.• Primary school engagement programme including class sessions and virtual assemblies discussing the impact of litter on local communities and the environment as a whole.• Community clean-ups delivered by residents, community groups, Parish Councils and Corby Town Council across the borough.• A clean-up of underpass areas across the borough by Community Payback Teams.• Community stencilling campaign by the Safer Corby Neighbourhood Warden Team, promoting anti litter messages.Lead member for Corby Town Council Cllr Mark Pengelly and lead member for the Environmental Group, Corby Town Council Cllr Alison Dalziel said: 'The Spring Clean campaign has a vital role in public anti-litter education. We encourage everyone to join in and make a pledge to pick, even if it's just their street.
