Corby Town Council were delighted to work in partnership with Corby Branch of the Royal British Legion on Saturday 24th June to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

Armed Forces Day is a national occasion for the public to show their support for the Armed Forces and a chance to show support for the people who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

The ceremony was opened with a piper and Cannon Paul Frost welcomed everyone to the ceremony. Town Mayor Buckingham laid a wreath on behalf on the whole Town and RBL Liz Harries recited the Act of Homage and the 1 minutes silence before announcing 3 cheers for the King. The service ended with the last post being played on the bugle before Cannon Paul invited everyone to join him in the church hall for "Brew with a few"

Mayor Buckingham quoted "It was a real honour to be asked to lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Corby and thank the brave for keeping us safe with their commitment and service"
